Our Monarch
King Cyril Sandy Adriaanse-January and Queen Jeanetta Sharon Adriaanse-January of the Aboriginal Hottentot Korana in Southern Africa ascended the throne on Saturday, 23 September 2023, at a kraal in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. King Cyril Adriaanse-January, born on September 9, 1960, at Klipfontein Mission Station in the Western Cape, is one of six sons of Mr. Samuel Adriaanse and Mrs. Johanna Janari-Adriaanse, who also hail from Klipfontein Mission Station.
As the new Aboriginal monarch, King Cyril plays a vital role in the reconciliation of the nation, focusing on our heritage, culture, customs, and the resources and minerals that were taken from us. With a rich history rooted in Klipfontein Mission Station, where his forefather was a king, he has reclaimed his royal status. His leadership is expected to reclaim, restore, guide, and lead his nation with unity and continuity.
